Although cystic fibrosis is progressive and requires daily care, people with cystic fibrosis can usually go to school and work. They often have a better quality of life than people with cystic fibrosis in previous decades. Improvements in screening and treatment mean that people with [cystic fibrosis] can now live into their 30s and 40s, with some living into their 50s.
